SEO is all about the links these days, or “link juice” as it’s referred to as in our little search engine optimization community. For kicks, the wife and I researched the top toys for Christmas 2008 (since we have two girls of our own) and created a page to see if we could drive any traffic.
I know, it takes up to 6 months to get any kind of placement for competitive search terms without a reasonable amount of link building, so this will be an interesting case study for us. The question is: “How many links and how quickly do we need to secure backlinks from related websites to get 1st page ranking in 4 weeks?”
By the way, the top toys for 2008 are Elmo Live, Kota My Triceratops Dinosaur, Kid Tough Waterproof Digital Camera, Live Butterfly Garden, EyeClops Night Vision, Fur Real Friends Biscuit, Wild Planet Hyper Dash, Playskool Busy Ball Popper, Nerf N’ Strike Vulcan, and Pleo Robotic Dinosaur. Not sure which toys are right for our little ones because they are so young, but they all look fun!
