OC SEO Expert Steve Wiideman shows you how to get thousands of links from all over the Internet.
Why are links important? They, in combination with the quality of the content on your website, are part of the criteria the Googlebot and Slurp (Yahoo!’s bot) evaluate while crawling the Web.
For you SEO skeptics who think it’s all about “organic seo”, go ahead and search for “click here” in Google (quotes not required). Adobe is numero uno and nowhere on their page or source code will you find the words “click here”. Do the math. Millions of websites have links containing the text “click here to download the Adobe Reader” - and the “click here” part is the link. So, yes, links are a critical part to search engine ranking above and beyone SEO alone.
The fastest way this OC dude found to create fantastic one-way links to my network of websites is through blogging. A webblog is just a page where you write stuff (like this page). The secret is to syndicate the content using a technique called pinging. The end result is that your posts appear on other people’s websites (and I hope you include a link to your site somewhere in the post).
Just today I found a great website, created by Elliot Bach, which contains a list of places you can ping to. Check out the big ping list of 56 URLs at this blog post.
You’ll also find a list of list of places to share your really simple syndication (RSS) with. Follow this link to learn where to post your rss.
Another great OC SEO Expert recommendation would be to submit your URL to search engines and directories. You’ll find my list of directories at my main website.
GotLinks.com and Free Relevant Links both offer a way to build more links through ethical networking.
Happy Linking!
Steve
