Hiring Freeze at Yahoo! Sign of the Times?

Hiring Freeze at Yahoo?Just got word from our Account Executive that there’s been a hiring freeze at Yahoo! Who knew?

So I immediately jumped into Compete.com to figure out if it’s a market share thing or just something going in within the Yahoo! organization. Here’s what I found:

Nothing. Everything appears to be business as usual, though the growth rate came down a bit, everything is still green in terms of improvement. I love my Yahoo! Executive to death, and while her promotion has been put on hold, I and everyone at Elaborate Search Engine Marketing (a Visionary View Company) are very pleased to have her back.

As I was typing this, I got a call from the gentleman who was to replace our current Account Executive cancelling the introduction meeting we had scheduled for tomorrow. According to him, these hiring freezes at Yahoo! happen all the time and are “normal”. Curious about what’s happening over there I tried to dig deeper, but all I got was “maybe upper management is flip-floppin’ around up there, I really don’t know.” So I guess we’re left hanging. Keep your eyes on the Yahoo! Blog, maybe there’s more to come:
